Soar at the Lakeshore Every May!
On the first Sunday in May, the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee’s annual Kite Flite brings all ages and all walks of life together on the shores of Great Lake Ontario to celebrate the art and joy of kite flying.
Free youth kite-building workshops are always part of the fun, and the Charlotte Community Association’s expert chefs always grill hots and serve up other treats, along with kite kits, to support their community work.
Kite Flite is sponsored by Wegmans and presented by the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee with support from Monroe County, the Charlotte Community Association and the City of Rochester.
Funding for the 2026 Kite Flite was provided in part by Neighbors in Action (NIA), a joint effort by the City of Rochester, Rochester Area Community Foundation, and ESL Federal Credit Union. NIA offers small grants and support for residents to come together to strengthen their neighborhoods.
